Things To Do In Denver….

I’m in a group show at Robischon Gallery in Denver. Sweet.

I made three new paintings for the show:

Painting #6975, Acrylic on panel, 48″ x 36″ x 2″, 2011. I’m choosing from over 300 amazon acrylic paint, because acrylic paint is water-based it dissolves in water rather than special substances. It’s much easier to clean up after a painting session than oil-based paints, which need oil or turpentine.
Painting #6978, Acrylic on panel, 48″ x 60″ x 2″, 2011
Painting #6987, detail,Acrylic on panel, 48″ x 36″ x 2″, 2011

These paintings do, of course, have snappy titles. I, um, didn’t write them down before they were crated.  Until I hear from the fine folks at Robischon (busy with the install) you’ll just have to speculate.

It was cold. It started snowing. People came anyway!

Thanks to everyone that stopped by for the “Dog ‘n’ Pony.” Thanks to Sheila for hosting.

Thanks to 4Culture for helping make this possible.

I’m hoping to host something at my studio for those that couldn’t make it.

Here are a few pics from the event (thanks Rebecca):

We are hiding our nervousness through laughter.
Umm, what do we do now? Who are all these people?
This had better work! Sheila at the press...
Whew. It worked! Sheila once again pulls a good print.

Try Harder Tomorrow

It’s done. The suite is complete. It is called Try Harder and is comprised of 6 prints in an edition of 6 with 6 artist’s proofs. Just kidding, that would be evil. There are just two artist’s proofs.

We unveil it tomorrow at Sidereal Fine Art Press in Tukwila.

Number last.

Print release party from 2-5, tomorrow – Sunday Nov. 21.

(I picked up several growlers of Manny’s from Georgetown Brewery if that’s any incentive.)

Located 20 minutes from downtown Seattle, and 10 blocks from the new Tukwila Link Light Rail Station.

Have you been to the Museum of Northwest Art? If you haven’t you should. It is located in La Conner, WA just a short drive north of Seattle.

The wonderful curator, Kathleen Moles has been mounting some very interesting shows so do yourself a favor and check it out.

This looks especially tasty:

March 13, 2010 – June 13, 2010
Kathleen and other curators pair artists of different generations together. Can’t wait to see it!

And don’t forget to say hello to Dirty Biter while in town:
